A person's first love is
always remembered,
and for Whitnie Means,
that first love was
music. She fell in love
at eight years old when
she first picked up the
guitar, and that love has
grown and changed
throughout the years.

One would never guess
that Means' roots are
firmly planted in
Bluegrass music. Her
first performance was at
eight years old at the
Walnut Valley
Bluegrass Festival in
Winfield, KS. As she
got older, her style
began to take on a
country feel. At the age
of thirteen, Whitnie had
the pleasure of opening
for the Charlie Daniels
Band in Wichita, KS.

At fifteen, this country
artist's music
transformed again after
teaching herself the
piano. This is when her
writing began to take
form and she truly found
her sound. She feels as
though her songs still
have elements of her
country background but
with an adult
contemporary feel to
them.

"I write from my heart.
If I could touch just one
person out there with my
music, then I have lived
a successful life,"
Means said.

Whitnie is currently in
the process of
recording, and hopes to
release some new songs
very soon.
